Friday, May 20:
Pre-rally ride & partying somewhere in Phoenix. Details to be announced.
Saturday, May 21, Hardcore Ride from Surprise to Congress [MAPS 1 & 2]
8:00 Surprise Gathering (Starbucks, 13706 W. Bell Rd.), Grand Ave. & Bell Road. Be on time (not scooter time) - this group needs to be in congress at 10:00.
8:30 Surprise to Wickenburg (38 miles): NW on Grand Ave. (US 60). Gas stop in Wickenburg.
Wickenburg to Congress (16.5 miles): N on US 93. Branch right on US 89 five miles north of Wickenburg. In Congress, turn left across tracks at Hwy 71. The Congress Café is on the left. Vehicles may be left overnight at the café.
Saturday, May 21, Skull Valley Rally, Congress to Prescott [MAPS 3 & 4]
10:00 Meet at Congress Cafe
10:30 Rally Start:
Congress to Yarnell (10 miles): Go back to US89 and take a left. Ride straight for the mountain & watch out for the giant frog on the left. Climb the big hill up to Yarnell. Speed zone!
Yarnell to Kirkland Junction (12 miles): Through town on US 89. Rolling hills through Peeples Valley. Watch for turn-off at Kirkland Junction (Left on Hwy 96)
Kirkland Junction to Skull Valley (12 miles): Take Hwy 96 north to Kirkland and turn right onto the Old Highway (Iron Springs Road). Nice curves here and a pretty crossroads in Skull Valley. Rest Stop & catch-up at the general Store.
Skull Valley to downtown Prescott (20 miles): Continue on Iron Springs Road on up to Prescott. Great rocks surround the climb up into the pine forests. Once in Prescott, don't make any major turns but you want to turn left (go east) on either Sheldon or Gurley (both take you to US 89 which you then take north towards Chino Valley).
Downtown Prescott to Encore (Encore Performance, motorcycle shop & BBQ) (4.5 miles): Leaving Prescott to the north, watch for it on the right after you pass Watson Lake. 2929 N. Highway 89
12:00 Barbeque, Rally Packages, Raffle Tickets at Encore
After the BBQ, find hotels & find downtown by retracing your route.
4:00 Meet-up at Town Square, Gurley & Montezuma, Raffle Drawing
Carouse in town, whiskey row, explore, dinner wherever looks great, retire at your own speed.
Sunday, May 22: Return Ride, Leaving Town Square and returning to Congress via US 89 [MAPS 5 & 6]
10:00 Meet at Town Square and depart at 10:30, south on US 89 (Montezuma). Primo downhill curves and views. Sport bikes lose it in these twisties on a regular basis so be skillful and careful. Show appreciation to Congress Café for parking.
12:00 Depart Congress for home
